Whenever I visit New York City I have found no better place to meet friends than near NYU and Washington Square Park. During one visit I spent some time taking pictures of the neighborhood. Check them out on my Pinterest page.

If you love cities and have the money for four fun years in New York, put NYU on your list.  Be sure you check your wallet, because NYU is one of the most expensive universities in America. It will set a family back around $80,000 with no financial aid.. That’s more than the cost of a two years, maybe three, at your home state university.. But there are few better urban neighborhoods to go to college.

Less than ten acres, Washington Square Park is one of the most festive and actively used public spaces in the Big Apple, and one of the most famous in the world. There are so many neat public spaces and so many things to do nearby. While NYU is not a sports school, I have always used this neighborhood as a guide for what a great college town should be. Not only should students be able to walk everywhere on campus; they should also have a vast selection of entertainment options nearby. Restaurants and clubs are entrepreneurial; they come and go around here, though some famous staples remain. I’d dare anyone to visit this neighborhood then tell me they could not find something to do.

Check out my Pinterest Page of Washington Square and vicinity.
